More than ever, practising open-air sports is an integral part of holidays. Water-skiing is a very enjoyable sport which is practised on calm water in the open air.
The first thing the skier must learn is how to get into an upright position on the skis and keep upright whilst moving forward. This is not too difficult if you are helped by an appropriate instructor. Once this technique has been mastered, you can move on to doing the slalom on one ski only. Others try figures, a speciality in which different manoeuvres and rotations are made, or perhaps jumping using ramps; but perhaps nothing is so exciting and satisfying as the first time you manage to water-ski and stay on your feet!
